Question by Dave A: Are there aquariam light fixtures that gradually dim?
My neon tetras freak out when I turn off the lights. I think if it were more gradual they wouldnt stress as much.
Are there lights out there that simulate dusk or dawn?
Best answer:
Answer by Marine I use a low light bulb for my glowlights anyways to enhance color. I havent heard of any flourecent lights that dim, but I know heating bulbs for reptiles that do. What I do is keep a lamp with a 30watt bulb in it beside the tank. At night, I turn the lamp on and my hood light off, this gradually reduces the lighting a little. Then after a few minutes I turn the lamp off. Hope this helps.
Question by discoballfell: what is the red light in the Fluorescent light fixtures when they are off at public places?
um no there’s an LED light or some low power light in the light fixtures in the movies and some malls and bathrooms. Are those cameras? or back up battery light?
Best answer:
Answer by Deepanjan Mitra it does not happen in a fluorescent light but in a incandescent lamp fixture, commonly known as a white lamp.
the filament of the white lamp fixture, when the light is switched on is white hot and when its switched off, the filament starts to cool down, from white hot to red hot and then to totally cool, when you no colors at all.
with your new details. if i have understood in the right way. there is this very small red light at the bottom of the fixture and not inside the light.
if you are talking about this very small separate red light, then this light can be either a fuse light indicating which light has electricity current supply or not. easy to detect, by the maintenance people. The light may also indicate that its running in battery.
Question by Mozda: Several light fixtures do not work and the circuit breaker is OK?
Circuit breaker got bad 20 amp
Change it with new one but lights and some wall outlets do not work
Breaker is good
Help.
Best answer:
Answer by kamaole3 Sounds like a wire may be loose. Assuming you made sure the hot (black) was well tightened on the breaker, the neutral (white) for that circuit may not be. Trace it back to it’s screw in the panel and make sure it’s tight.

My wife installed a new ceiling fixture a couple of days ago. She is awesome! Plus the new fixture makes some cool looking shadows on the ceiling and the wall.
Question by asios12: Can I spray paint my ceiling fan light fixtures?
My ceiling fan lights are a bright blue and I’d like them to black or chrome.
Best answer:
Answer by yowza yes, you can do that. you can just remove the blades & paint those, or you can remove the whole fixture (remember to cut the power first) and paint it.
The one in my dining room is ninties-style brass & white, and I’m thinking of painting the brass bronze & then doing a faux wood finish on the blades. It also has those dated frosted white glass light covers, and I’m thinking of changing those to one of these:
Most acorn and carosel style lamps are absurdly ineffective. This style, with the light receeded into the cap makes for a full-cutoff outdoor light that shines light correctly onto the ground.
I wish my city had lights like this instead. These were found at a park in Parker, Colorado – a city who’s logo is an icon of light pollution. Whoever did the lighting in O’Brien Park understood correct lighting principals.
